Adalah PC LPPNU Kab. Sampang didampingi PW LPPNU Jatim menanam padi varietas pecot di Dusun kendal desa Baruh kec Sampang Kab Sampang, padi ini mengasilkan produksi tiga kali lipat lebih banyak dibanding dengan padi pada umumnya.
Koordinator pengembangan budidaya padi PC LPPNU Kab. Sampang Nidhomuddin mengatakan “Padi pecot” ini sangat kuat tidak mudah roboh karena batangnya besar, malainya juga besar padat berisi, toleran terhadap hama penyakit, dan cukup dipupuk pakai pupuk organik buatan sendiri”
Ketua PC LPPNU Kab. Sampang Asfihani mengatakan “di Sampang padi ini dikenal dengan padinya NU dan akan kita dorong seluruh petani di Sampang menanam padi ini”
Yang istimewa lagi padi ini ditanam dengan menggunakan pupuk organik yang murah dan tersedia dilingkungan sekitar mansyarakat pedesaan.
Ketua PW LPPNU Jatim Ghufron Ahmad Yani mengajak masyarakat khususnya petani Nahdliyin di Jawa Timur untuk tidak ragu menggunakan pupuk organik dan mulai mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia dalam budidaya padi
“ini adalah bukti kerja nyata dari NU untuk kemandirian dan kedaulatan pangan bangi bangsa Indonesia dan solusi bagi permasalahan pupuk yang saat ini sedang terjadi, mari kurangi pemakaian pupuk kimia yang hanya akan menyengsarakan petani pada akhirnya”.
Padi pecot ini akan di panen seminggu lagi dengan estimasi hasil panen 14 ton/ha.
